Polish Review: Cinema Swatch Catching Fire Collection

I’ve got a gorgeous little review for you today! Now that the weather has changed and fall is in the air, I’ve got my cup of coffee and I am ready to sit down and show you these gorgeous gems.

First up is Pin Bird, a speckled feather coat. Red and black bars with gray and white matte micro hexes.

SONY DSC

It is a very unassuming polish in the bottle. When I opened it up and looked at it, I was amazed by it. The bar glitters, which I am not a fan of because they are SO hard to work with, are so tiny! It goes on seamlessly with no problems of clumping, sticking out or anything.

This is two coats on a naked nail with a topper of Seche Vite. I’m going to try it over grey next time! I’ll have to add the pictures!

Next up is The Clock, one of my favorite of the collection. The Clock is a color travel from light blue, blue, to purple. Holographic in the sun. Unfortunately there hasn’t been much sun, so my swatch photos kinda fail to get the holoness of the polish.

SONY DSC

But it is very pretty and very shifty. This one even my hubs fell in love with!

Big City is next, it’s a mix of silver holo hexes, shards, and micro glitters in a sheer pink base.

SONY DSC

It’s a very light, shimmery polish which I think will be perfect for the fall.

SONY DSC

This is three coats. There was some blotchiness, but that was only because I over-added the polish on the middle and ring finger. It goes on like a gem as long as you clean the brush off quite a bit.

SONY DSC

I love how it sparkles and shines!

SONY DSC

Trident is next, a color travel from aqua to silver. Silver and real micro glitters.

SONY DSC

Unfortunately, with the way the weather has been acting, I had to do all my swatches indoors under indoor lighting, so the color is off. My first day of sunlight I will definitely re-do the swatches on this one!

SONY DSC

In indoor lighting it has an almost bluish olive drab look, which I think is freaking awesome. I can’t wait to see some sunlight soon! LOL

SONY DSC

Revolution is next, a three color travel from pink, to orange to gold. Gold flake and red micro glitters.

SONY DSC

This is another perfect fall color to me.

SONY DSC

It goes on a little coarse due to the glitters, but nothing a good coat of Gelous and then a topper of Seche doesn’t take care of.

SONY DSC

Last but not least is Feathers & Flames. It’s a gorgeous white, glittery, and iridescent over white or a four color travel from blue, purple, pink, gold over black with gold hexes. It can stand alone or as a topper and is completely versatile!

SONY DSC

I can see many a winter mani with this beauty!

SONY DSC

This is two coats and a topper of Seche Vite. Very opaque for a shimmer polish like it is.

SONY DSC

This is Feathers & Flames over The Clock. It adds a very subtle shimmer to pretty much any polish you put it over.

SONY DSC

And when put on just right, a gradient effect!

All in all, Cinema Swatches polishes are awesome! They come in awesome shaped bottles, which I have never seen before (and lord knows I’ve seen a lot of polish bottles). They’re wrapped with care and include these super cute little “care labels”.

Labels

I mean, really? How flippin cute can you get?

You can find the Catching Fire Collection on her Big Cartel shop. They’re just $5 each! You can’t beat that!! Also check her out on facebook!
